Print Competition Rules
General Print Competition Rules
- All prints must be submitted between 1900 and 1930hrs on the evening.
- All prints must have a completed SPS label applicable to the competition entered affixed to the reverse of the print, including name, title and date.
- Not more than two prints per person per competition or as decided by the committee.
- All images contributing to the final photograph must be the work of the photographer. Clip-art will not be accepted.
- Prints may be commercially produced or home produced by the photographer.
- A print may be used only once in a league competition but may be entered into specialist competitions i.e. Landscape, Nature etc. but not a Digital Iimage competition.
- Prints may be of any size up to a maximum of 50 x 40 cms, including the mount and must have a backing board fitted and covering the whole print.
Print League
- The general print rules apply.
- There will be three classes - Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced.
- New members will decide in which class they wish to compete and must remain in that class for the season.
- Beginners and Intermediate classes achieving 90% or more must move to the next class in the following season.
Print Of The Year
- The general print rules apply.
- All entries into this competition must have been entered into another print competition during the current season.
- All prints must show label of previous competition.
Six On A Theme Print
- The general print rules apply, except:
- One submission of six prints per member.
- An entry should comprise of six (different) images linked by a common theme i.e. Hot, Cold, Colour, Shape etc.
- Prints should be mounted on one mount board.
Black and White Print
- The general print rules apply.
- An open competition.
Portrait People Print
- The general print rules apply.
- All entries should be of a posed subject.
Architecture Print
- The general print rules apply.
- All entries submitted should depict the shape and form of any man made-structure.
Nature Print
- The general print rules apply.
- All entries submitted may be of any form of flora and fauna but should not include household pets.
Landscape Print
- The general print rules apply.
- Landscape is defined as the image being predominantly land.
